Problem with Recording in Cubase 32

I am an amateur to the recording technique so excuse me if I sound like it. I am currently doing some home recording. I have a Headamp headphone amp going into the headphone input of my Behringer 1604. Then I have my Delta44 breakout box running to the tape in of the mixer. Everything works and sounds fine, but when I record in Cubase the playback gives me the vocals I recorded and the instrumental music that I record over also. Am I doing something wrong? Seems as if the mic is picking up both channels of the cubase software.

Hmmmmm. Let me get this straight, your signal path is

Mic - Mixer - (Alt out? Main out? Direct out?) - Delta 44.

Then.....

Delta 44 - mixer - Headphone amp - headphones

Which out put are you using on your mixer to go from the signal your recording to the computer? It sounds like your monitoring back through the mixer and you just using the main outs into the 44.

Yes my signal is going from the Main Out to the Delta 44's in. When I use the headphone amp I'm going from the tape in on the mixer to the output on the Delta 44. Then I plug the headphone amp into the "phones" output. I think this is where my problem is coming from.
