wuhan china cymbals

i dunno if anyone has experience with these cymbals, but theyre super bright and super trashy for only around 30 bucks for an 18".

its worth a shot if youre trying to add something different to your kit.

anyone else have one?

Yep, I agree with all of the above, except for the "bright" part. Mine is super dark, however I think you would be hard pressed to find two that sound even close to alike.

I love my Wuhans.

I poriginally got an 18" and wanted anoth color so - - - - I now have a 20", an 18", a 16" and a 14" I think Wuhan's sound exactly how a china should sound, warm but trashy.

Some people complain that they break too easy, but I've never had a problem.

Does anybody knows how they sound combined with SABIAN AAX cymbals??.
I´ve seen in MF WUHAN splash/china packs for $60. Maybe it´s a good idea to buy one of this packs and give it a try.

What do you think??.

I wouldn't say that it is that important for a china to "fit in" with your other cymbals. FWIW I play an AA/AAX combo and have never had any problems. Ultimately only you can answer that question...

I have a 20" Wuhan China crash and a 12" China splash on my kit. I personally prefer the sound of the Wuhan Chinas to ANY of the other more expensive brands of Chinas. They are what a China SHOULD sound like. Zildjian, Sabian and Paiste try to make them sound more European. Chinas are supposed to have that trashy "roar" to them.
The fact that they are inexpensive doesn't enter into my reasons. They happen to sound the best to me. I have gotten some real interesting effects with them by lightly stroking a flexible steel striker accross them towards the "bell" and out towards the rim,-close mic'ed run through with a slight delay. You'll get an unearthly sound.

Yeah. Wuhans are great.

how true....since musician's enemy has had the $9.99 12" wuhan deal going on - I know 4 people that have gotten one (how can you not for that price?) = each one sounding COMPLETELY different than the other. the one that I got is super dark - while one of my friends got one that's incredibly bright. the bright one sounds awesome as an accent...the dark one - well, not so good. I guess that for $10 I can always get another....

having said that, it's still a nice cymbal though. I just happen to covet my friends'

Take a stick and just try them out in the cymbal room at the store. Just listen to what you want to hear, because like they said everyone is different. But I havnt heard one I didnt like. They are so cool. I hooked up on the deal of 12" splash and 12" china for $30.00 before mars went out of buisness. I have traded the 12 china for a little more and got the 18 china.

agreed...if you're buying from a store... - it's kinda hard to do though when you're ordering from catalog (ie. musician's friend)

When I saw the $10 offer for the 12" in MF I couldn't say no :-D. Happy, it's great for quick trashy accents, and you can't beat the value.
