Sonar and Directx

In addition to my last posting, I tried to reinstall Sonar 2.1 after reformatting hard drive and upgrading to XP and it keeps saying it's searching for directx 8.1 and installs it and never seems to detect it after restarting. Therefore, I cannot reinstall Sonar. I have already installed directx 9.0 since that's all that seems to be available. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, do you have any suggestions as to what to do? I don't know what to do. Is this an XP issue? A directx issue? Thanks,

This is a known issue. There's documentation and a patch at Cakewalk's website

I find it really strange that Cakewalk don't list this under Support -> Sonar. I mean, that's the first logical place to look, right?

And AW-Cakewalk, since I see you lurking around, any comments on Sonar 3?!?
