Here's an old song written by a friend of mine that I arranged for him recently.

When I was done arranging it and showed it to him he didn't seem very pleased.

Sounded great to me. It is impossible to tell why he might not of liked your arrangement without hearing his version though.

Then again, maybe he is just jealous of your talent. ?

It would be interesting to do a side by side comparison with your friend's version. Did you really rearrange it or something? Without hearing the his arrangement I can't say where he's coming from. I've got to say though, another triumph man. This thing sounds great. I don't know what I can tell you other than great!

Well, the thing is that this is the first 'full' arrangement done for this song. He had only written the chords/melody/lyrics without instrumentation. I guess he must have had a different idea in mind.

He normally listens to more pop-ish music, maybe this arrangement wasn't poppy enough for him.

If it wasn't for the cool guitar, it would have been a totally pop song...the mix was great as usual...my guess is he didn't like the guitar shining that much, but I sure did, because it took an otherwise poppish song and raised the bar a bit....gibs

Another masterpiece. Keep 'em comin'! As for your friend...we all know someone like that, but to his credit he composed a really nice song.

Actually the guy who wrote the song is coming in to sing it sometime within the next couple weeks and I have some minor changes planned for the song so maybe you wanna wait until I do the changes and the new vocal.
