MIDI keyboard out to Tascam?
i just bought a MIDI keyboard and i want to use it with my Tascam MKII to add rhythms and such to tracks...
problem is, it has a MIDI out on keyboard and the ins on the Tascam are the XLR type..is there a cable available for this? I hope i didn't paint myself into a corner...especially with something as simple as a cable connectivity problem... any help for this keyboard newbie would be greatly appreciated. Jae

Which keyboard? I hope you didn't get a MIDI controller...
Go to the MIDI section of this forum and do a search on MIDI basics....wait a sec... http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/sea...by=&sortorder= MIDI is only info, not audio. You need to use the audio outs to connect to the tape machine. Read up...ask more later. |

thanks for your suggestions, but i have read the posts on this, and none of them seem to be asking what i'm asking. The question is, can i connect my MIDI out on my keyboard (CASIO WK1630AD)directly to my Tascam MKIII, when all the tascam has is XLR and 1/4 inch inputs?
I am not using the computer for recording, nor computer recording software, i am recording directly on my tascam, and want to add percussion and other things to a separate tracks to go with my vocals and guitar etc... Thanks for any help any of you can provide in your answer.
