I have an antares avp need help with settings

My wife want's to sing on one of my songs. Thing is i don't know how to use the auto tune because i dont know how to read notes. Major, Minor things of that nature.
Can anyone help. Also whats the rules or good settings on, Compressor, gate,de esser and equalizer. Some please help, i'm lost and looking every where for answers. Thanks. Also, I create hip hop. Just for refrence thanks.
