For MD to computer, do I need this?

Has anyone used this accessory? It looks like it lets you bring MD recordings into your computer via the USB instead of the sound card. But I can't see whether you copy the files in (probably not) or "play" them in.

Thanks,

It could be cool. It solves the problem of the soundcard noise.
It will still only transfer at 1x though

You play the MD into it. It's a basic A-D converter. Better than a cheap soundcard.

md thingy

OOh,,thats looks like the very thing for me then.
Ive been trying for months to transfer home demos from MD onto the pc by just plugging into line in,
but its just not happening for me.
id even like to record some old vinyl onto pc so i can make cds of them.
So this wee thing here really is as simple as it looks?
I plug IT into the pc,,,then plug the MD into the thing,
and away i go?
Jeeez!
Now,,,do you think if i picked one oft hese up when im in the USA in October it would work back here in the UK?
What do you guys think?
Would be much cheaper over there too.

It certainly would NOT work over in the UK.
It only runs with US standard digital HiFi waves - you guys are still operating on the old analog air over there...
Write your congressman...errr...queen and request that they upgrade their soundwaves.

Seriously though, let us know how well it works.

Hi Nilbog
Think i might get one,
cos it works on batteries so i wont have to be concerned about that whole bloody voltage/power change thing.
