know nothing about outboard
Hey everyone...i have been recording on a fostex vf80 for about a year now, and havent delved into any compressors or effects or mic amps or anything like that yet. I want to step up to the next level, but dont know where to start? is there any one thing that is a must, or a priority list i should have? I want to improve my vocal quality, and braoden my abilities and sound capabilities; the aforementioned boss vf1 sounds pretty sweet for the price as far as effects go, but would this also help with compression or "mic amping", or am i totally dreaming here? also, is an external mixer pivotal to my recording? any help would be great...thanks alot! -sean
