Looks good man, I'm jealous. I wish I could have a full accoustic set in my apartment.
So by built do you mean you bought shells and assembled them or did you construct the shells yourself?

i bought the shells. building shells yourself is almost impossible. The snare is OCDP. The rest I built.

I know it's like a copy of Barker's kit and all, but can you ACTUALLY play with those hi-hats so high?! Man, that's insane, your sticks must get mauled...but if you can do it, go you.

Nice kit also.

the pictures exaggerate the height of the hats compared to the snare. The hats are about a little over a foot above the snare. My sticks don't get mauled because i keep my elbows kinda high. I need a new pair of sticks about once every 2 or 3 weeks.

here are the specs:

20x20 kick
14x16 tom
8x12 tom
12x14 tom
6x14 OCDP snare 20 ply vented

-All wraps are glass glitter
-OCDP style 50% offset lugs
-All shells 6 ply keller maple
-Die-cast Tama starclassic star-cast tom mounts on all toms.
-Single 45 degree bearing edge.

It was an easy project that cost me about $1100. The Tama mounts are a little on the expensive side. They run around $100 for each. I finished them in 3 days. They sound as good as Tama or OCDP drums.

WOW, nice fenix. Where did you get those keller shells? Where did you have to go to get the ocdp snare? Is that custom paint done yourself? How long did it take you to do this? Where did you get the hardware?

nice work man. i'm in the process of thinking about building my own kit but don't even really where to start. I don't have much experience in this at all and need a new set before my band goes on tour. Right now I have a DW which sounds great but want something new and different sounding. I set mine up similar to yours. Is that an 18" oriental china? Those are bad ass if it is.

for the guy who wanted to now where to get the keller shells i believe you can order them from http://www.kellerproducts.com/

Hey Fenix, very nice looking kit! One thing I was wondering, is the rack tom the red glass glitter from drummaker.com? It looks almost like its a burgandy color. It might be my monitor, but I was curious because I wanted to use it on my kit, but I want almost a candy apple red.

No, it's a glass glitter from precisiondrum.com. I took those with a crappy digital camara. It's a lot brighter red in person. The pictures make the sparkles look really dull and dark.
