Behringer Eurorack Pro RX1602 16-Input Line Mixer

What do you know about the Behringer Eurorack Pro RX1602 16-Input Line Mixer?

I need a single rack unit on the cheap and at $99, this looks like it.

I've been using a Korg KMX-62 for about a year. I bought it on eBay and it is starting to act up. So, I need something on a pauper's budget.

What I would like to have:

At least 6 channels (stereo would be great)
At least 1 stereo aux send/return
Mute buttons for each channel
Headphone jack
Single rack space.

The Behringer seems to have all of these things for under $100, but I don't particularly like Behringer's rep, however for such a small price I could be convinced to look the other way.

Please help!

Carl

subtractor is an unknown quantity at this point
Help what? It seems like you answered yourself...
It's $99! That's not much to lose if it sucks...
Buy it and give us a review.

I was hoping that someone else would be the intrepid explorer.

Has anyone got one of these?

I own a few Behringer items. Never been disappointed. I had the MX802 Eurorack mixer, and it was okay. The UB2442FX-PRO is much nicer, though.

I wasn't suggesting that you buy what I have - just that you needn't worry about being the first to enter uncharted territory. At least not in terms of the brand name goes. I don't have experience with that particular piece.

Well, I've biten the bullet and ordered one. Hopefully it will reach me in time for a project that I am working on. I'll give a report on it after I've used it.

I bought one about 3 weeks ago with some Christmas money.

NICE PRODUCT. Very quiet mixer. Works great.

Don't let the "anti-Berry" snobs put you off, this is well worth the money.

I use mine as a headphone amp...

It jacks the sound up quite nice in my headphones...

Its definitly not one rack space tho...Takes the whole lower half or so of my rack...

Altruist, you must be thinking of something else. The RX1602 is a brand new model from Behringer, and it is indeed 1 rack space.

The only number that doesn't look good in the specs is the crosstalk.

For those of you that have this mixer, how noisy is it? I mean, at waht point when you turn up the volume do you start to hear the hiss? I've found Behringer gear to have a fairly narrow "pocket" of where you have to sit the gain staging.

I could see some uses for this little mixer for myself, if it is indeed quiet and clean and has some decent quiet gain.

I just got an RX1602. I needed a bunch of channels to monitor my rack of MIDI gear. Works great.

I'm not recording any signal through it, though. Just using it for monitoring.

When I was using my MX802A mixer, the ambient noise of my entire system was -65db (good enough for casual recording)

With the RX1602 it went down to -87db

I could immediately tell the difference in the sound. This puppy is QUIET.
