How to Setup On Computer??????

I was just wondering if there's anything special i need for me to hook it up to my computer. Do i need a multi - channel card for my computer?????? I need 2 hook up a MIC, EFFECTS PROCESSOR, MIC PREAMP, COMPRESSOR, And MONITORS. So I need a card that would hook those 5 things up. OR is there something else i need, ALSO is there anyother wiring i might need???????? Thanks

oooh goody, it's hautsaucey. Let me condense all the posts that are soon to follow into this post:

sweetnubs: even if you get an outboard mixer and you want to use your outboard effects, compressors, etc. you are going to need a multichannel sound card for your computer to ouput tracks individually if you want to process them individually with outboard processing. your mic preamp, monitors, mic etc. can all be routed into/out from your mixer.

hotsauce: Can you recommend a soundcard for me????????????? for around $100.

sweetnubs: what is your platform? mac/windows, sequencer?

hotsauce: should I use mac or pc????? which one is better?????? I have $50 to spend. What sequencer should I get??????? what is a sequencer?????? is that a program or something?????? I have $12 to spend on a sequencer.

sweetnubs: I prefer pc's but you can get decent results with either platform. depends what you want to do with your sequencer? do you need midi? multiple file support? etc.

hotsauce: what is midi??????? should I get it?????? what does it do??????? I have $25 to spend on midi if I need it?????? what are files?????????? can't I just support them with a sawhorse?????????? I have $29.99 to spend on a sawhorse. which ones are good?????????

Oh yeah, since a need to hook up a mic, mic preamp, compressor, monitors and effects processors can you recommend a good mic????????? which one should I get???????????? what do they do????????? I have ...............

Yep. Try Sunbeam or Osterizer. Both make great cakemixes and other delicious stuff.
