CubaseSX vs Logic (pls view)

I read all those different review here
and it seems that cubase SX has nuendo sound engine and sounds better than logic

but ...
I see all these industry ppl, using logic
and a whole lot of them actually preffered logic ..

So .. I need to make a decision
what do you say ?

Are you a Mac user? The PC version of Logic is dead in the water.

SX is really cool feature-wise. Lot's of next generation features. But you might want to check the Cubase forums to see if they've ironed out the bugs. I could be wrong, but I thought I read that SX can't interface with USB audio interfaces...I could be wrong about that though.

Logic is considered a much more stable program. Logic has been real stable for me. I tried out SX, and found it pretty finicky. That was awhile ago, so YMMV.

Logic is real deep if you're into MIDI. It's a pretty hardcore program.

If you're on the Mac, you might also want to check out MOTU's Digital Performer. Alot of pros use that one.

The best thing to do is try out all of the programs and see which one works best for you.

That, my friend, is a load of horse-shit.... I've been using VST and then SX for several years and they are VERY stable.

Bear is right, I've had no problems with Cubase SX. Never base judgements on demo versions. Also, try not to comment when you've only used a demo version.

Like Bear, I've been using VST and now SX for a few years now. Very stable - VST on Win98SE, and SX on XP.

About midi.... I can't compare to Logic, as I've never used it, but Cubase started as a midi sequencing application back in the '80's. From what I've heard (and from what I've seen - way more features than I can imagine, let alone think of using....), Cubase is lacking absolutely nothing in the midi dept. Mind you, SX seems to have "traded" some midi features from VST in favour of more advanced/refined audio tools, but I haven't noticed. Groove Quantize is about as "advanced" as I get....
