Looking for feedback

Hi, these are some tracks I'm working on right now and I wanted to get a response from others regarding the mix. Please let me know what you think of the EQ, levels, effects, etc. The songs are kind of folky, and I've noticed that a lot of the music I hear on this site is rock/blues/funk. So I hope you will still be able to give it an honest listen even though it doesn't rock out.

The link is:

Also, I tried a trick with delay to widen the stereo image a bit (see my post from a few days ago in the mixing/mastering forum) and if you're curious to see the difference it made, you can check out the older versions of some of these songs at:

Thanks everyone and I look forward to your praise and criticism!

- Peter

Just giving this a bump

You've got me as a fan! Great voice, nice playing. I listened to Able Glass...Nice work! No comments on mix or anything as I want to listen to more of your material on my home system instead of cheap cans at work.

Hope some of the regulars here give some feedback on things. Sounds good to me and am looking forward to hearing more of your songs.

Sorry the streaming audio isn't working for you...I know sometimes they don't play right away while they're loading. If someone else is having the same trouble perhaps give it a minute. Anyways, I've added direct download links, and tested them using windows media player, so those should work if nothing else.

Thanks for letting me know, and please give me any feedback you have!

the direct link worked.. listening to 'able glass.' very nice song! only nit is the acoustic sounds a bit boomy at times.. the vocals are pretty upfront but it sounds good that way..

I also listened to 'booty' ---> when it started I thought of 'Tenacious D.' the vocals seem a hair loud on the chorus, but this is a good recording.. nice bass solo.. You could have put a guitar solo there and it would have been cool too..

Thanks for the response Sabbath, I agree with you about the acoustic and I'll see what I can do about it.

If you're curious, The Booty Don't Stop is based on this cassette tape that someone I know found a long time ago. It had about 10 home made booty rap songs on it that would have made anyone on this site proud. Eventually it was circulated around southeast Michigan and was picked up by a magazine called FOUND, which collects all manner of found material (pictures, letters, e-mails, audio, video, anything you can think of). They're making a cd of songs inspired by found items that have been sent to them, so that is going to be my submission.

You can listen to a few of the original booty songs on the found site (www.foundmagazine.com). They're pretty great and I think anyone who makes music would appreciate them.

Leavings,

"Able glass note" is absolutely beautiful bro! Id be buying that right away. The acoustic is a tad boomy at times. I would like to hear your great vocal and acoustic tunes through a top notch path signal. Keep writing good music.
