Definitely! If I were you though Michael I wouldn't settle for less than a 16 track 1" machine. Find out about the heads. Have they been lapped, if not how much will it cost to get it done? Find and get to know a good tech in your neck of the woods.

I agree with Jake... you can probably do better. I'm not sure what you budget is but if no one bids on this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=41480 ... maybe you can make the guy an offer. What is the width of the tape on the Otari? Do the tracks/in math and stay away from 8 track 1/4"... Kevin. |

I'm pretty sure this is a half inch 8 track.
16 tracks would be nice, but they are 3 times as much as this one.

Hey Michael, congrats on going analog too! Theres nothing quite like 4 or so reels turning, while the music is playing. Theres something REAL about it. Not like digital.
Its like riding a Harley.....you know, wind in your hair....chick behind you, scootin down the road at 80 mph ......oops.......ah, excuse my over active imagination hehe!fitz ![]()
