sm81's applications(acoustic guitars and OH's)

are these good for acousitc guitars and overheads? or would i really be just as happy with like Oktava MC012's or something? Suggestions, please.

i keep reading that it's the #1 choice for acoustic guitar mic-ing for most people here.

I have an 81 that I use on acoustic guitar. And really like it. But I think you'll find that in most commercial studios if they use the 81's it's as a high hat mic or for overheads.
