Cool Recording Controller

I found this after searching around a bit.....

A free little program that can assign joystick buttons to do keystrokes.......

I've already got a joystick and it's a free download, so I'm gonna set it up so that in cakewalk, one of the buttons is record, the other is stop......

nothing too exciting, it'll just let me be situated before i record, as i, like most here, man my own booth, thus this will let me not have to run to place after i hit record.........

i figured some of you guys might be able to use it too

The link is towards the bottom and called JoyToKey

I think you're missing the point stealth. He can get to the keyboard shortcuts from a joystick near the drumset or somewhere else now.

Exactly! I have my vocal booth set up in a closet not near the keyboard. Right now I have to set the recording to start 15 seconds in advance so I can run to the closet and get to the mic in time. Half the time I trip over a cord in the rush and knock off my headphones or something like that.............now I can go, setup in front of the mic, and hit record and stop, without going back to the keyboard.
