Cheap to me in this case means selling them "brand new" (still have unsigned warranty cards and manuals, and only used them 2-3 times MAX) $60 cheaper than you can find them anywhere on the net (mercenary being the cheapest I've seen).

uhhhh... we prefer "least expensive" to "cheap"... and if you're selling them for $60- less than the price on our site... that is way under dealer cost which is a hell of a deal for somebody [ethics quandary... could we snag these from the brother and sell them as new and make a better margin? Fuck me... tempting, but can't fuck with the "right and wrong" part... GRRRrrrrrrrruph]

How would these work as part of a live bass rig? I've heard alot of great stuff about them for use in recording, but I'm looking at picking up a compressor for live use.. could be interested in buying one.

It kinda depends on how you play... but I've found that I generally have to back off on the attack and release in order to get a bass through it without the sound kinda going to hell.

Bass is not one of the applications where I have found the RNC to excel. .. then again there aren't any compressors I've ever found acceptable for a bass application that were under $1,500... so maybe I'm just a snot.
