Question Evolution MK-249C USB keyboard

http://www.audiomidi.com/common/cfm/...Product_ID=555

Is anyone familiar with this keyboard? It seems to have a lot more features for the price than all the other midi controllers I have looked at, but I've never even heard of this company.

Any comments? Does anyone have any idea if I will be able to use this with reason 2.0 without a problem?

What are other good keyboard under $200 with this many keys and features?

Thumbs up

I'm a very big fan of Evolution controllers. They have plenty of bang for the buck.

Thumbs down

Midiman (and by that virtue M-Audio) controllers are not a lot of bang for buck. They are very overpriced.

You get the same thing or more for less money from Evolution.

BPM Music has the Edirol PCR-50 controller for $219.00 https://fire.he.net/~bpmmusic/bpm-bi...s:3590.70601:N
I don't think they have it in stock right now, but the other places will match the price and I think Zzounds even went cheaper, like $214, but the customer service guy smarted off so I went elsewhere.

I bought one at 8th street music for $219 free shipping. They matched BPM's deal.

I like the MK-249C your looking at also.
Review both and compare.

Good luck

i got an mk-249c from guitar center for $150 out the door, even with CA's high sales tax.

I have the MK249C-2 and am very happy with it., Haven't used any others, so I can't offer a constructive comparison comment.

I've used one of these http://www.musicindustries.com/fatar/cmk-49.htm with Reason 2.0. Worked like a charm. Apart from the 49 keys it has nothing more than an on/off switch and no USB but for some that's all they need. Paid €69,- for it ($77), new. Not sure if you'd be able to get it for a price like that in north-america.
