Angry *Mixing Woes <--------

I've posted this over in the "Mixing & Mastering section"
and thought I'd try here as well....

We are producing tracks using the old Roland XP60 & Korg Triton
and flying each track into the PC using Saw Plus program...
We are using ok monitors (Alesis MK2). We used to take the Data to get mixed and it sounded decent.. we want to do it ourselves to get that perfect "sound"...

When we play the track, its bangin' but then we burn it to CD and it sounds like paper...not full / thick. The vocals are nice though,
but we dont understand where to start trouble shooting....Is it the way we are flying in the tracks? or is it the program???
is it ok to be mixing each track via the Saw Plus program?

N-E suggestions would be cool..
Thanks
