I don't really get the question. The question suggests that analog recording WAS reliable (in poor english), so what has changed in recent years? Is it:

b. The quality of tape being manufactured
c. The number of companies still making new tape machines
d. People's perception of analog recording
e. Human hearing

No, but digital does yellow. Not as much as DAW does canadian though.
