Thanks guys. The truth is I can never remember a tune and play at the same time, yet I can make them up all day long without blinking an eye. In my younger days as a frontman of bands, I was regulary fired for not reading the words that were taped by the other members, on my mic stand. I have finally found a good balance with the music (business) world, that never would record or promote my approach. Musicans have always supported me beyond my wildest expectations. I now have my MD and my whole recording studio fits in my pocket and I can record anytime/place. I have waited 30+ years for this technology and I to cross paths. Walter

PS: Mixkr, you really listened to this didn't you. Douglas and I played together on and off for 23 years, and Katherine, who is pushing 60, and I have played for a year together. She and I had a special connection from the first beat we played. They know where I am going better than me, or any other configuration I have had over the years, and that puts them in some high company. I feel blessed to have made it to this point. Life is great when you surrender to it!

Thumbs up Rest In Peace

wow... really whacky use of harmonica + reverb there. Calling your mother "baby"... and "darlin"... that's sweet. Some backporch blues. Quite enjoyable.

Very cool blues voice, too.

Drew me right in. Thanks for sharing that.

Chad: Thanks for the feedback. I grew up in Newark, NJ. After the race riots in the late 60's, many buildings were abandoned. I use to go in them and play in the stairways. I had dozens of buildings for different moods. They ranged from 1 story - 20 stories. I moved up and down the stairways until I found a sweet spot. That was my introduction to reverb. I used that technique on this song. Thanks Walter

I really appreciated the off the cuff delivery of your stuff man. It was smooth and genuine. That guitar has a signature tone to it. I`m sure the folks enjoyed it well. I listened to all the tunes.. I`m a blues monger myself...The harp was sweet..

Hey, someone's been listening to Sonny Boy II... You got that Sonny Boy vocal vibrato down pretty well. I can dig the heavy verb on the harp, but I could do with less on the vox, personally. But hey, sounds like you were going for the "in the stairway" sound here, so...

Sonoma County, eh? My neck of the woods...

Toki987 & groucho: THanks for listening to the tunes. I am glad you enjoyed them. This MD is a heaven send to me. For the first time in my life, I can capture stuff, simply, anytime, or place. Making it all up as I go along makes studio situations a drag. I work off a live crowd's energy. Without it, I am flat. I have done countless studio recordings, but very few I am proud of. By "vox", did you mean my voice? I am a novice at all of this and I record it all on MD and just add a little volume and reverb to the whole thing. Yes I am a Sonny Boy fan. He, IMO, is the greatest harp player I have ever heard. I dig singing/blowing through the same mic. I can do so much more that way. Playing through an amp is like heavy metal to me-too limiting. Thanks for the guitar compliments too. I play Lonnie Mack's 59 jazzmaster with my fingers, through a fender deluxe reverb (RI). I am currently going down to the local music store and playing out front with my 1940 National Steel and recording it for a "LIve ON 4th Street" cd. Groucho, where do you live? Thanks again Walter

Walter,
Back when we were being attacked by the trolls, HevyD put up a post with a link to your NWR page on one of the other threads. Said something like you better listen to this guy before you miss it! So I did! I never got around to posting on your thread until now. It seems my dial-up is so slow today, it's all I CAN do! Can't even get a lo-fi stream. I really connected with your music and I wish I only had a fraction of your talent! Keep em coming, maybe one day I'll be able to listen again!

bdbdbuck: Thanks for the compliment! Dan has really been a big supporter since I logged on here. There really is nothing to it, just sit back, let go, and follow yourself. I am suprised more people aren't just making it up as they go along. It saves on rehearsal space too! I can mail you a cd if you like. Let me know.
Walter
