Wink POD with a footswitch

Hi chaps and chappeses!
i think im going for a POD after playin it for a while. its makin my Boss GT3 sound like an old woman frying eggs!
so i cant afford the big foot pedal thingy,,but i know theres a 4 button pedla thingy available for it.
the question is,,,,what exactly can i control using that thing?
all i would really need for live is a full on distortion,,a slightly louder delayed distortion for lead,,,a clean sound and a slightly overdriven sound maybe.
al the stupid sounds on the other effects are a waste of time anyway,,and mostly unusable.
any help would from someone who uses the POD and footswitch would be great folks!
TA very much!

pod xt or just pod?

whichever one it is,

with foot switch, you don't have to stop playing guitar to change one patch to another, and i'm sure you already know this. not sure if those pedals can be seperate pedals like the ones in gt3 or gt6. (the manual mode)

so basically, its for changing patches..
I would recommend getting a footboard.. cuz it really is a hassle to change patches with your hand when playing live...

pod etc,,

ahaaa,, thats what i mean man
so it IS basically for having 4 sounds programmed and available ?
if so,thats exactly what i need.
just like the GT3,but with better sounds although less easily accesible yeah?
and the big footboard would no doubt allow FULL access to he PODS sounds and functions?

i'm doubt if you can can ALL the functions but i know you can tap the tempo for the delay and also have the volume pedal that can also be used as the wah.....

Wink

as long as i could have 4 difernt sounds to call up with the 4 button footswitch i would be happy for the time being mate!
i can yeah?
cos i saw the 4button thing in town for £50 second hand.
do you mean that you can ALSO add a pedal to that set up for wah,,,or do you mean you can have wah with the bigger pedal board thingy?

hahah you already have your scheme planned... awesome
have fun with it man.. i had pod 2.0 and upgraded to xt... (bought.. not literally updated.. lol)
and to tell you the truth... i like the sound better than the gt6 I have... but you can't beat gt6 price wise.... since you are looking for like around 600 for podxt with the short board...
pod is a great tool.. enjoy it mate!

power chords

well i have the scheme,,,,
just dont have the bloomin money to turn it into reality!
But i shall save as i always do and get one soon,,,,,
it will be "SUPER POD VERSION 978" by then probably!
Im sick of trying to carry the GT3 i have around on planes and stuff,, its "undo-able"!
Is that a word? Tis now! The POS and the footswitch will take up as much room now i know,,but not as heavy,,AND a much better sound i think.
So here to me jumpin on the good ship POD!
By the way,,do you know if the Line 6 Spider combo is any good?
Theres a store in town here(Glasgow,Scotland)doin them for £249 new
