I don't have any sugguestions as to your setup.

I say your best bet is to call/email your customer service rep for your gear

I haven’t used this particular device so Im in the dark here however do you know that the PC talking to the firestation ? Is it installed and working correctly ? Are their any tools/demos bundled with the firestation to check that it is working properly? It is possible that you have a lemon however Id make absolutely sure it is installed correctly before returning it !

yes.. i just reinstalled it (million times)

and it finally recognizes by the hardware program...

but i still don't know y in cubase, it doesn't look like the audio is going in....

not just this hardware.. but how do you make your software recognize your hardware? after you make the device changes in the option, should it be able to receive teh audio?

Its just strange to see this program recognizing the hardware but can't receive anything from it...

thanks...

The best sound that you'll ever get for guitar is going through an amp and into a microphone. Direct systems just don't have the same feel. I just found this out first hand, because my band is recording a project and I am working with the tones. Check out this sample. It was done using a Line 6 Flextone and two microphones. http://www.eng.utah.edu/~awilson/FriendsSampleMP3.mp3

I think that if lots of money and lots of studio time are no problem, you are probably correct but… for the rest of us, well there is always recording direct.

For people who know sound engineering inside out and have the facilities to extract the optimum sound from there kit, recording guitar using their amps / compressors / eq / mics of choice is a really good road to take. However, for the less experienced, recording direct is the fastest way to get really good results.

Example..... When recording direct you don’t have to think about the following critical parameters:

1) Volume (don’t have to crank you amp to get those tubes saturated. Because of this you are no longer faced with outraged murderous neighbors who are intent on killing your first born.

2) Room acoustics / reverb. Save a fortune on acoustic treatment by recording direct, add revrb later as needed.

3) Mic placement. On axis / off axis how far away relative to your volume level ? Condenser or dynamic mic, will the SPL fry your capsule? Are you prepared to find out?

4) type of mic

5) and finally types of preamp

Me, I’m home recording POD-man !!!!!

true

but i don't even ghave an amp.. i have podxt.. lol works fine for me...

i got it finally working..... man this this was hard!!... all because of the mLAN stuff.......
I don't even know if mLAN is worth it.. but some say it will be in few years and i'll be buying what lot of future buyers will buy....

i really went out on my budget to get this.. and it don't even have 96khz capabilities only upto 48......

and i know motu 828(was it 828)is also 96khz... i have 30days on this.... i really dont' know what to do.... to either stay to firestation that has mLAN that no one really knows if its going to be popular or not....... shoot.....

well, any help would be appreciated thanks!
