Can I control the PODxt from a boss GT-5 via MIDI?

hi!
I want to have to amps each independent from the other, with diferent sounds. So I think if I get a POD I can use an a/b box from the guitar to send the signal to a POD and a GT-5.
But I want to now
-can I can control a POD from the boss GT-5 via MIDI?
-is there any other way to do this?

thanx

..desde la isla del encanto.

I believe they made the PODxt so it can only be controlled by THEIR controllers through that pedal plug. Of course their controllers are a good 200-350 bucks..

If you have the data filer software you can record parameter changes from the POD and play them abck to it. Problem is that the GT5 probably uses different change messages for the parameters. It may work to some extent..only two ways to find out is to check the MIDI implementation charts or plug and fiddle. Make sure they are both on the same MIDI channel.

Actually, a firend of mine just bought an XT with the Behringer pedalboard. He couldn't get the Behringer to communicate with the PodXt and he *really* needed to get it working past weekend. so he digged up the GT-5 and had program changes working in minutes. (expression didn't work, but he had no time to really dig into it).

So: yes you can, up to a certain level of control.
