Looks better than it did...though i'm not sure I would be willing to do the "if your not satisfied you pay nothing bit" Seems a bit risky!

Most importantly though the little fat man logo is fantastic!

Seriously though, I still think the copy needs a little work, sounds a little used car salesman like at the moment. That is an honest opinion rather than a critiscism.

Good luck to you though, you clearly have the ambition.

Hmmm..... Zeke - you and I need to have a little talk....

...you see, there are a couple of things that are simply not allowed in web/graphics-design, and others that are simply common courtesy.....

For one thing - taking layout ideas from one site is one thing, but using similar textual phrasing and even actual phrases is another.... as an example, the text on my own site is copyrighted, so I wouldn't appreciate people "lifting" my words for their own purposes, especially without even asking permission!

And along a similar note -- I seriously doubt TL Audio would appreciate your use of their "Fatman" logo for your own purposes. Logos are very much copyrighted material. If you want a logo you get a graphic designer to design one for you.... just like I did with the Blue Bear Sound bear - I hired a graphic designer to come up with the original artwork for my new logo based on my input....

I think you have more web-changes/editing to do, my friend -- you wouldn't want to get in trouble for copyright infringement now, would you??? (I mean this seriously...)

Christ...if you are going to plagiarise...at least do it subtly Zeke.

I didn't spot the similarity till I looked at your site again Blue Bear. As for the fat Man...I thought it had to be too good to be true.

Your layout looks oddly familiar, though not quite as professional as.... some one else's... but I just can't seem to place it.....

I think you have a lot more work to do, there Zeke....

No need to get aurally excited Aphex.Zeke is a cool kid and he will do the right thing. He was told in another thread that he should make his site a bit more professional.Someone referred to Blue bears site as a good example of how a pro web site should look.I dont think he is intentionally trying to fuck anyone over,he's just trying to make his way.cut him a little slack. How many 14 year olds do you know that run thier own studio?

My point exactly. You could pay a hefty amount and do some time in ass-pounding prison. Not nice for a 14 year old.

Secondly - how many 14 year olds with studios do I know?

As many 14 year olds that have their daddy handing them 1000's of dollars in cash.

Aphex,as is with your name sake, you are useless.
You have no idea what zekes folks require of him in exchange for supporting his recording hobby.(I think we can all agree that it aint a staight "A" report card!)
As far as thousands of dollars go,you have not read his gear list.
while nice,it is modest.(especially since some asswhipe ripped him off)
Even if his folks require nothing from him in exchange for buying his gear, thats still cool.He could be doing worse things.
Act yer age fuck wad,and quit hating on the kid for having more gear than you!

You're getting there Zeke but as others have said, major editing is necessary. Also use the editor's spellcheck to catch alot of silly misspellings. I admire your tenacity. Keep working. These are all good lessons learned.

blessings,

Aphex, dude you need to chill man. I did not know that the Fatman logo was copyrighted because i did not see any symbal like (C) or (R) or (TM) anywhere around it. and because it was a product, not a company. Anyway, i when back and deleted anything on my site that i thought myte be copyrighted.

You should get a friend or parent to proof read the site before you publish it as well. You can have all the experience and good gear in the world but typos will still make you look like an amateur.

That excuse wouldn't mean much to a judge. You have a lot to learn about intellectual property and I still see the logo on your site. I suggest you do some serious reading before you get yourself into big trouble.

I suggest you find a better way to access DEMO MP3's. You links now are very annoying and send me to another site where I can't even find the song...

contrar

nope 14 years olds don't go to prison they go to JDC (juvinile detention center) while adults go to ADC (adult detention center) anyone under 18 goes to JDC anyone over goes to ADC. you go there until your court hearing then at your hearing the judge decides whether to keep you in JDC or ADC or to go home and remain on temporary probation until your court date then at your court date they can make you serve time in JDC or if it's like your 3rd time offense or if you ahve 2 felony's you go to a Prison type enviroment but for kids... no ass pounding in either JDC or "down state" (the term for the prison) but for copyright enfringement I doubt he'll serve any time ... probably just a fine and his site shut down.

I'm going to help you out here, Zeke - because I don't think you're aware of the mistakes you're making with the text on your webpage....

The idea is to include only pertinent information that is relevant to the user.

Here's an example from your site - I'll break it down section by section....

Phatman Studios Is housed in a 40' x 10' x 8' Mobel building
First thing - what the hell is a Mobel building???

...located just off the shores of beautiful Shoal Creek.
Fair enough...!

Surrounded almost completely with Shoal Creek Forest, you don't have to worry about noisy Highways or other distracting sounds....
Well, duh! That's why they go to a studio - it's expected that a recording studio will be free of extraneous noise!

....it's peaceful; the perfect place to get back to nature.
How nice... except that people are there to record, not go camping!

The Facility includes a Control room, Live room and 2 tracking rooms...
Again - of course a studio WOULD have these rooms, why are you mentioning it?? (I suspect you saw it on a website and changed the wording a little - however on the website you may have seen, the context of the text was to provide room dimensions - without that, it sounds pretty silly!)

...and is stocked with Quality constructing recording equipment.
What exactly, is "Quality constructing recording equipment???" That makes no sense.... and in any case, again - if you're charging clients, they already EXPECT you to have recording equipment, so what is the point of this information??

Phatman Studios is owned and operated by Zeke Sayer, who founded the studio in late 2000.
Fair enough...!

Continued support from his parents and friends...
Once again, who cares??? No one wants to know who's paying your bills, they just want to know that you have the potential to get their job done successfully.....

...has enabled Zeke to transform his once "Home Studio" into a Semi-Pro Recording Facility.
Another "who cares" -- and what's a semi-pro facility??? To a client, that can imply that you can only semi-get-the-job-done....

A long term goal for Zeke is to be invloved in audio engineering and music production at major recording facilitys.
Might be ok for a resume, but has no place on a business website.

....operating Phatman Studios gives Zeke the real world experience that moves him one step closer to that goal.
...yeah sure, at the client's expense. This is a sure-fire turn-off to any potential clients -- it clearly shows that you consider yourself a rank amateur, so why on earth would they pay good money???

Don't take my comments personally - you're just learning and that's understood - plus I tried to inject a little humour into it so you catch the drift of what I'm getting at...

Think about what potential clients want to know from your website, not just what you want to tell them!
