MIDI Track Sound

I have recorded a MIDI track into cakewalk Pro Audio 9.03 from a keyboard. When I play it back, the sound comes out of the keyboard, and not my computer. How do I get this to play as a track on my computer? Thanks.

Lightbulb

You need to record 'em as Audio

MIDI is there to "tell" your keyboard to play those MIDI data...

...then how can I have the PC makin' sound instead of my keyboard, Jaymz ?

Route your keyboard's audio out to SC's soundcard Line In, and record as audio. Cakewalk will do both playing the MIDI tracks to your keyboard, and record incoming audio being played to new audio track.

Depending on what kind of soundcard you have, you might werll be able to "aim" the MIDI data to the card's on-board synth (SoundBlasters and their ilk). Or, if you have one, you can trigger software synths that run on your PC.

I agree with James in the other posts.... duplicate posts suck!!!! Check my answer in the other post... it's pretty much the same as the two responses in this post
