Sonar 2.0 and DXi Synth Drums etc..

Hello All. I am still in the newer than newbie category. I have had minimal experience over the years with 4 tracks and the likes and after trying for over 10 years to get a simple home studio set up together, I have all the tools ready to go. Lately though, I have been considering selling off some of the standard rack gear in favor of getting some of the DXi effects and synths to produce drums tracks, synths, effects, etc... in Sonar 2.0 What has been your experience doing it this way as opposed to using some outboard gear such as stereo compressor, eq, etc....(Standard rack stuff.) Thanks for any input you can offer.

Nothing will beat the DR-008 when it comes to drums (it's bundled with the XL-version).

Use it with this kit and you're in drum-heaven!
