Post D-80 and 108 hardrive capacity

I've just aquired some D80's and a D-108 and need to know how to go about increasing the hard drive capacity for these. I would like to make them as large as possible. anyone know anything about how to do this?

A list of what drives will work in each unit: http://www.fostex.co.jp/int/hdlist/hddscsi.html

Good documentation here of essentially everything in the Fostex product line: http://www.fostex.com/index2.asp?file=support/documents

Hope that helps.

Thanks Skippy. I have run accross that info. I have heard something about installing an EPROM chip that allows much larger hard drives. Although that's pretty much all I know about it. Any one have any info on that?

Have you contacted Fostex's tech support, as they should have up to date information on the H/drive capacity of all models.

This may be a long shot but go to ....... www.syntec.com.au ..........they are the Aust., Fostex distributors and are usually pretty helpful, just ask Skippy .

There should be an email address for their support dept., on their site.

Yup. I've gotten *zero* useful responses rom Fostex USA, and any number of negative and downright discouraging answers from them. And not for lack of trying! On the other hand, the Australian guys are very knowledgeable, friendly, quick to respond, and willing to help out- even if you tell them right up front that you aren't in Australia! I own Ausrock a major debt of gratitude for hooking me up with them: had he not done that, I'd still be flailing along with old firmware.

Amazing. Frankly, the hot setup is to correspond via email with the Australian guys, and let the US reps go pound sand. IMHO, of course: your mileage may vary...

I have no idea what Fostex USA is thinking, given the state of their support mechanism. They'd sure do well to study their Australian peers.

Thanks guys. I did try calling Fostex the day I was leaving for vacation, but could only leave a message so I decided to wait. I'm leaving again so I'll try that again when I'm back. I will try the Australian distributer. Sound like that might be the way to go. As far as emailing these companys, I pretty much gave up on going that route for the simple reason, I could never get a response back from any of them. Not just Fostex. These were other Major companys who's products I was interested in. Guess what? They never got my business.
