Question CF cards/exorbitant prices

Has anyone found the medium ground between reliability and affordability in CF cards? Toshiba's are pretty friggin' ridiculously priced I thought(219$ for 512MB), though I am new in this.

Well the PQI 512 on outpost.com (or at Fry's Electronics same thing) is only $89.99 after rebate ($109.99 before rebate) with a 1 year warranty! although it's a weird brand name, I swear by that card. It actually uses Toshiba technology. I bought mine for $170.00 5 months ago. But this card has never yeilded odd errors or anything like that. Works fine. I can't wait for a nice affordable 2.5 gig to come out!!!

If you get it and it errors on you, send it back and say you want a refund. the customer is always right.

spontaneous bad decisions

I bought the Toshiba 256 already! I have little patience for shopping.

Thanks for the info. BTW, how much do 2.5 gig cost now? Are they even available? I haven't run into them.

there are sizes up to 3 gigs now. but a 3 gig is about $2500.00. Later this year, there will be a 6 gig available coming out at $7500.00. it will be soooooo long before these are standard sizes though. until this much space is demanded, these prices wont drop much.
