hrn is an unknown quantity at this point
It depends on how it will be used. Live, recording, mixing, monitoring, analog or DAW, the number of outboards and so on...

Well, i'll be using it for recording, and the outboards probably about 5.

If you give us a maximum $ budget, and specific details about what applications you'll be using the mixer for, you'll get better info.

For analog I have a TASCAM M600, 32 mono inputs with 16 tape sends and returns, 16 busses and 8 aux sends.

This one, bought it broken from a radio station for $250 and fixed it for around $80 and a couple days work. Nice pres and eq, really the best mixer TASCAM made.

For the digital side of my studio I use a Roland VM 3100. It has 12 inputs 4 busses /effects sends partial parametric eq and passable pres.

Bought is fror 800$ as a floor model from the local music store. This goes to show what you can get if you shop hard and really use all your resources. Call local studios and radio stations...many are upgrading to digital.

dont know

It seems DIGITAL MIXERS come with everything i need already. Like mic preamp, eq, compressor, Etc. Plus a cd burner. Would it be better just to buy one like that. Or buy all the Equipment separate, and connect a mic preamp, compressor, etc... To a non, digital mixer?????????? I also have a computer, so i would mos def like to connect it to that. If thats possible. I don't have all the equipment, i want to buy all of it at once. But i'm just gonna have the basic stuff i'd need. Like a mic, Mic preamp, compressor, Eq, signal processor, and mastering processor. So if that helps.

Thanks

P.S. not looking for something awesome, just something that will fit my profyle, also be able to provide great sound and great whatever. thanks again

Ah....almost every mixer comes with everything you need. If yoyu want a mixer with no pres look for a line mixer.

I've never seen a mixer with a CD burner before.

What exactly IS your.. um profile then?

yea

didn't mean my profyle file, i meant what i said when i was writing about the mixer. I never said i didn't all those things in the mixer, I asked if it was better or not. So is it?????? or is this line mixer better???????? You've really never seen a mixer with a cd burner, well, i think it's under Multieffects processors.

i got confused with some of your sentences, too....

you can go all software and ditch the mixer (analog and digital) and just get a mic pre and soundcard

The new MG series from Yamaha look really interesting. Almost Behringer-pricing , and their earlier budget mixer (The MX800) was suppsedly really good.

If anybody has any experience with these (not likely, since they are so new) please share...

Frusciante_Fan is on a distinguished road
ahahahah this guy does this on every thread.

He started one on mics a while back , and it didnt take long to tell that this guy doesnt want to think one bit. He just wants someone to tell hime "GOOD" "BAD".

On the other thread he called us all GEEKS?? Well YEA.
A geek is someone who learns a lot about one peticular thing, and knows soo much that he is an expert in what he or she is studing. That being said , if this guy doesnt want to dive deep into the science of recording like all of us , then he should just go to a local studio and spit whatever garbage he thinks is music , into a mic, and let the Geek at the studio do all of, his stuff.

hotsauce, your obviously a highstrung, impatient, and lazy kinda guy , when it comes to this stuff. Maybe your best bet is to just go to a studio.

Yup, here he is again.

Seems to be a guy who knows something about recording, maybe a member of this board using another account. His MO is to post an innocent sounding newbe question which gets some helpful replies, then proceed to insult those who have tried to be helpful.

He seems to have some ego issues - maybe a small or non-functional penis. Some trolls can be entertaining - this one's just sort of sad.

Innocent sounding, but amazingly stupid, newbie question, mind you. Like "Which one is the best <whatever>". A typical newbie question, sure, and you get the response "for what budget". A typical newbie would then say "Ah, right, of course, well, I can spend $5". This guy doesn't answer. And in one thread he asks for recommendation of $1500 preamp, while he readily admits he uses a radio shack mic to record Kareoke rap into hios computer.

No, this is not a newbie. This is a member of this board trying to have fun on the other members expense. He is succeding too, I think.

whatever kind of mixer you get don't get one of those soundtracs topaz consoles that I see people suggesting around here. I checked a friends out a few weeks ago because it stopped working. godamn thing has plastic plugs located right next to the rectifiers. Those are the hottest components in the entire board. One is located right between two of them. fucking things crumbled right in my hands. no heat sheilding. and the godamn power is ac and it is located inside the board. jesus, ac really fucks with audio, and there is no fuse that I could find in entire system. WTF.
