This is a rack!!

In my ramblings today I ran across this.

http://www.mbrauer.com/soundtowers.asp

For those trying to decide on getting an RNC, you'll notice its not too humble to sit alongside the big boys.

I've always wondered how they mix/track with those "towers" or gear way behind them....I mean, is that what the assistants do? Run back and forth and do all the knob-tweakings as the enginners tell them to???

Usually when the studio has that much money they will leave certain things set for a specific part. For instance the 3rd 1176 set for bass...ect.
Then the engineer or assistant will just patch things as most pro studio patchbays are directly to the right of the console surface.

In the instances where the head enginner wants to try something new then yes, the assistant gets to run back and forth....and make coffe...and run to get food, cables, tape...

Most of the gear besides the classic stuff already has MIDI control...I have yet to see that in full use in any studio.

The RNC is in the rack to load the power supply so that the "good" equipment can work. It was either the RNC or a lightbulb. The lightbulb creates too much heat, so, they used thre RNC. It could have been a DBX or Behringer I suppose......

I would do that except for the fact that the Alesis is just too good. I value our friendship too much to take advantage of you.....
