For Sale/Trade - Tascam 424 MKII

This 4 track is in excellent condition. I've owned it for the past 3 years but just don't have any use for it since I went digital. If you're a newbie to recording this is just what you need. It's what I started with. Asking $150 plus $20 shipping/insurance since it's got a little weight to it. I'll also throw in a new pair of AKG K110M headphones if you want them. I think they were $20 or $25 so that makes up for the shipping. Nothing special but OK for starters.

Trades? What I really want is a Studio Projects B3 microphone. Yeah I know, they're $159 everywhere and that's what I plan to buy by selling this Tascam. I'll pay to ship my Tascam to you if this is the trade. I'll also take a Studio Projects B1 but it must have the spider shockmount or something else in the trade. The B1 is $79 everywhere and the shockmount is $29. You'll have to pay the $20 shipping on this trade or come up with something else to throw in. Other trades? Whatcha got? I'm kinda into mics right now.

Oh yeah, if the shipping is less than $20 I'll refund the difference. I'll wait a few days, maybe a week, before it goes on eBay. Opening price will be $125 with a Buy It Now price of $150. Buy it now or take your chances then. Picture attached.

edit - I have the printed manual (downloaded) for a Tascam 424 MKIII too. It's very similiar to the MKII.

Have you dumped all your tapes to another format??

Just something to consider........I had the MKII for several years and then got rid of it to go digital.

but then i had all of these 4trk tapes that i could no longer listen to......and I would get new effects or find new settings and think..."I wonder what that would sound like on that song I 4 tracked last year???"......but couldn't find out.

And some of my friends still use tape four tracks.
Thats why I had to go buy one again.

Just some food for thought that some times it can be useful to keep gear around to be able to work with that particlar format if you ever wanted to again.

Mike - Yeah I've already run what I wanted to keep through Cakewalk and burned to CD as bundled files. Like you said, just in case I want to listen to them sometime in the future. I really learned a lot starting out with it. Didn't want to put much money into recording until I was sure I both understood and enjoyed it. Now I'm about 95% complete building my new studio with about $20,000 invested so far. I'm still learning and I thoroughly enjoy it or I wouldn't have dropped that kind of money into it. Maybe that's why I'm still driving a '93 Explorer with 238,000 miles on it Guess I got off subject a little bit??

Thumbs up Wow man, thats great.

I hope it all works out with your new digs.

Sound like you may have outgrown the 4-track "just a little".

Have fun man.
