Question Teac A-2340r ???

Hello,

I'm just wondering if $200 Canadian (about $150 US) would be a good deal for this r2r machine in near mint condition ? I want to pair it up with my Mackie 1202 VLZ PRO mixer and use these for multitracking and later sound tweaking with compression, effects etc ?? Can someone please tell me about the quality of this machine as a 4 track/channel unit ? How much did it retail for when it was introduced ? Anyway, I appreciate your help!

Daniel

Arrow It's an oldie!

The A2340 was positioned as a midrange r/r, below the A3440, much in the way the 22-4 was positioned below the 34B.

If you get one that's near-mint and proper working order, then you'd have a nice little recorder to play with. The design & controls of this recorder might be a bit dated, but still functional.

$150 seems fair.

Ok, thanks! I think I'll skip this one. Tell me, do you go by "Long time user" on the TASCAM board ?

Arrow Y;)

Anyway, instead of the A2340, why not hold out for a 34B + dbx.

Oh, hey, a while back I saw an awesome ATR-60/4, 1/2"-4-track on sale on Ebay. Only $500, too, but unfortunately a pickup deal only, & I couldn't afford to go to St. Louis on a roadtrip like that. It's too bad, too.
