Storing songs on VF-160

Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum and a relatively new VF-160 owner too. Plese inform me of the most appropiate way of storing songs after recording. Should each song be assigned to their individual program, and if not - what will be the best way to separate and locate the songs within a program.
We intend to transfer the 16 tracks via ADAt to more heavy gear for mixing after the recording sessions.

I've had the 160 for quite a while now (it rules by the way).

Ok, I have a new Program for each song I record. Then when I do an Internal Mix Down, it creates another new Program for me. So basically 2 Programs for each song, and if I want to back up onto CD I just back up the song Program not the Mix Down (you can always Mix again).

When making an Audio CD, I just choose the Mix Down Programs and viola - I've made an album, easy.

I've got about 16 Programs on the 160 right now (8 songs I guess), and I'm nowhere near 20 gigs - space just isn't an issue.

I can't imagine why you'd want multiple songs on one Program, unless you're recording a live gig or something...

Well, the reason for asking is actually that we've recorded 30 songs on individual programs (live session) and - I might have missed something here - but I don't seem to be able to recall scene memories from one program to another, which means that when making an internal mix you have to start from scratch with each number. Please correct med if I am wrong - Thanks!

I see, ok I must admit, I don't know how to copy the Scene Memory from one Program to another. I'm guessing there's no easy way, you're gonna have to re-do all the scene params for each program. Which is kinda sucky.

Sorry - I wasn't much help there was I, you couls always try Fostex Support...

I shouldn't even be answering because I don't have the manual with me right now, but I believe there is a way to do just what you're asking. It has to do with where you save the scene (ie not under Init Mix). Get into your manual section about saving and recalling scene memories. I really want to say I saw it in there but I could be wrong.

Thanks for your kind replies. I actually have found the answer now (nowhere in the manual, though) but in another news group. It's actually quite simple; when storing a scene one should use the "T" prefix (T00 instead of e.g. S00) and then you can call the scene from other programs.

JJ is right about using T scene memories to copy scenes between songs BUT it's worth noting that the T is for Temporary, as in not saved when you switch off - you will have to save the scene in a least one song in an "ordinary" scene, so it's there next time.
