Vegas and...?

Howdy,
due to the necessity/desire to do some video stuff alongside of audio, I plan to purchase Vegas as my first and main program. However, it doesn't seem to do MIDI. So I'm looking for a suggestion of something to use alongside in the 'puter for MIDI stuff.

Also, am I right in the assumption that I can play MIDI out of program "X" and record the audio in from my keyboard in Vegas at the same time (on the same 'puter)? I do know that P-power is an issue ("processing power" for all those who lurk in the cave) It won't always (or maybe never) be necessary since I usually record audio to an outboard HD recorder, but I'm just trying to explore the possibilities so I can get set up as close to right as possible the first time.

Also, anybody got anything to say about the "Ozone"? Looks like it would be nice for my first interface deal for my laptop since it has audio ins as well.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

D out ITNOJ
