UPDATE: gray '66 strat with rebel flag guard

hey guys,

lightning hit my computer and i've been gone a while (im on the library computer now)

I just wanted to give y'all an update on my '66 strat (the one that started another civil war on this site). As soon as i get my computer fixed i will post a pic of it. It has been professionally refretted and plays exceptionally well (i was worried about refretting it). i got rid of the rebel flag guard and stripped the gray paint off down to the yellow original factory dye (the factory markings are even still there....unbelieveable). I used the correct white primer and shot it in lake placid blue. i clear coated it and cut and buffed it till it was smooth as glass.

i went with the 3 ply white pick guard and the original pick up covers and knobs. It really looks good now.

last week Ted Nugent was having a book signing for "kill it and grill it" and I couldn't stand it....i HAD to take my '66 and get the cravemans "john henry".

the staff at the book store said "mr Nugent is not going to be able to personalize anything because of his tight time schedual (he had to leave the bookstore in 2 hours to do a sound check....and there were people backed all the way out the door of the store). Ted was signing books and cd's so fast you couldn't even make out his signature.

when i got up to his table he looks at my '66 and says "wow man, thats a classic!!" He starts rumaging thru his pens and shit and pulls out a blue sharpie.

then, he really did a nice signature...took his time, dated it, and drew one of his caveman drawings (the stickman native with the spear)

I don't know why he personalized my strat and nothing else.. (that i saw) ...but, im gratful to him for being so kind to me.

so, i wen't from gray strat with a rebel flag guard...to.... a lake placid blue strat with a peice of artwork signed and dated by Ted Nugent...IN MATCHING BLUE INK NO LESS!!!!

i know im rambling but im proud of my strat y'all!

The way I've always done it is first, you have to upload your pic onto a web site somewhere. Then you just have to put a link to it in here.

There is an "attach file" check box when you hit the post reply button. Check that and browse your hard drive for the images to upload. You will have to do a new on for every pic.

I've had the pleasure of playing this here strat mr. jimistone is referring to (just a few seconds ) and also recording (with his help) this fine ax. The tone is remarkable to say the least..his playing is too! Can't wait to see the pic's man! btw, lost my username...you do know who this is eh? , good to see ya back around!

It will be a while on the pic, im still on the library computer. My computer repairman tells me that the lightning screwed up my mother board (and other assorted computer jargon that is over my head)...so, im gonna let him put another puter together for me (he said that by utilizing some of the stuff on my current machine and buying some new stuff he can have me in a computer that will be 3 times faster than my old one for about $250)

hey dave, whats been going on dude. The '66 plays better now than when you played it....its been refretted by true pro (that is also a perfectionist).

I wanted Ted Nugent to play it, but, the crowd was being hearded thru like cattle and he spent twice as much time with me than anyone else as it was.
