Question Help w/ 24bit recording

I've got a Delta 1010 running Sonar 2.2. Everything is going great- I've done my first couple of multitrack projects as I learn the system. However, I've been recording in 16bit. I want to use 24bit for my next project. I went into Sonar under Options - Audio and I see that Audio Drive Bit Depth is set to 16. If I change it to 24 and save, I get this error: "the default audio format is not compatible with one or more soundcards. It has been reset to 44.1hz (16bit) as suggested by the driver."

The soundblaster soundcard that came with the computer is still installed, in fact I think that card is still used when I play CDs from the computer. But I don't know why Sonar would care about that card since it uses the Delta 1010 properly.

Or maybe I need to load a different Delta driver?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

TT

Have you disabled the SB Live drivers in Sonar? Options -> Audio -> Drivers and unmark the SB Live drivers...

And maybe you need to set the bitdepth in the Delta Control Panel.
