sonar 2.0 xl effects

i figured out how to use the effects on playback,but how do you hear the effects before recording .i'm a first time computer recorder,so any tips will be greatly appreciated

Use input monitoring to see how the effect sounds, if you get latency problem turn it off while recording and monitor through hardware.
