dead buzz

Can someone tell me why i get a dead buzz when i connect my four track to my stereo ? The more i turn up the four track, the loudr the buzz gets the lower the music gets and the higher my stress gets. Please help!!!

Sounds like you have a ground loop.

Make sure all connected gear is plugged into strips that originate from the same wall outlet. If that doesn't help you can use 3 to 2 prong convertors (ground lifters). Make sure your audio cables all good quality and don't run parallel with any power cables. Don't run unbalanced cables more than 10' unless they are very high quality and 20' at the most.
