i posted a messag elseware regarding this, but i wil ldo it here as well. we are recording with an adat, we want to import it into the computer and mix down. i have a core 2 pc recording card, that has digital in and out, is that all i need? just go buy 2 optical cables? also how do you import it in? is there software i have to get. we have a delta 1010 and we where gonna use that to import using line out of each track to line in of each trak on the delta, but then we have to mess with audio levels again. and besided if i get it working with my core card. the delta 1010 is mine, and i can record my acoustic songs the band dont get into that much.:0) thanks alot. check out www.vein-band.com we have some mp3s up, they need to be fixed and mixed. we have a radio station in town thats wanting to play some of our stuff, so we need to getting sounding good. thanks all.tom

The Lexicon Core 2 will accept ADAT digital signals so you're in luck there. You'll need multitrack recording software to record your ADAT track into the computer and also for editing/mixing. Search the site here for ideas on software, there's a shitload of 'em.

In your software recorder, you'll assign each track to an ADAT track. Usually they'll appear in a drop down window as options like; ADAT 1-2 LEFT
ADAT 1-2 RIGHT
ADAT 1-2 STEREO
ADAT 3-4 LEFT
ADAT 3-4 RIGHT etc...
Once you have the tracks routed in the software and you're cabled up with the Lightpipe cables, you'll have to set the software clock to slave to the incoming ADAT Lightpipe signal. Then it's just like recording in any format; hit play on the ADAT and record in the software and let it go. I've been doing transfers from ADATs and now an HD24 in and out of my computer through a MOTU 2408 mkII for years now and it works like a champ.
