Connecting MIxer to SoundCard ..Plz Help

I have the audiophile 2496 with the Mackie DFX-6. I wanted to know where the RCA cable that connects the soundcard to the Mackie would plug into the mixer.

Output from Audiophile (left and right) to tape inputs on mixer (white fader on right).

Input to Audiophile (left and right) to Aux Send(s) on mixer.

Headphones (or monitors) to either headphone output or main output. This is what you will listen to while recording.

The reason for using the aux sends to output the signal to your Audiophile:

If you record a track (in whatever software), you will want to play it back while you record another track (i.e. overdubbing). But you don't want to record the first track AND the second track onto the second track. You need to keep them seperate. By using the Aux Sends of whatever channel(s) your instrument/mic is plugged into, you will record only that channel, but you will be able to listen to everything (the signal from the Audiophile and the track you are currently recording).
