sync video with audio

hello, all

I am doing a score on this lil project of mine. I plan on using sonar to do the job, and the very first problem I am having is the sync between vid and audio "during playback".

The video seems to be independent from the audio. For example, when not playing, I click on various spots on the timeline, and the video stays at where it was last played, it doesn't move to where I click on the timeline...

Now, this is a major problem cuz I will have to play from the begining everytime I wanna record something so I can actually see the video playing properly

Any thoughts?

Strange!

I've imported video plenty of times, and never had that problem. What filetype have imported (mpg, avi, in other words, what codec)?

it's mpeg-2. does other small specs matter, too?

I know sonar is able to sync cuz I've seen people doing it, but, it's my first time trying, weird...

Maybe if you converted it to avi... For converter I use VirtualDub, it's free!

Every project I've worked with video I used AVI-files, I've never had problems.
