I know what you mean. Once upon a time i thought I had all I needed, then I hung out here and in the past six months have bought a J-station, an Evolution MK249C midi controller, a Behringer FCB1010 Midi floorboard and more cables and software than I can shake a stick at.

Hate is a strong word. I really dislike not having what I learned on at home. Unlimited mics, 40 channel API Legacy...several 2" machines (16 and 24 trk)..people to help you out and teach you when your stumped. So Ill never make a Grammy quality product at home...but Im having alot more fun now that I can just walk away when I want...

I'm an amateur on a budget...try to see things in perspective, bloody tech freaks! Why buy a Neve board when it gets hooked up to a friggin' AUDIGY?!

Sorry for cursing, but I'm getting tired of tech people telling me what to buy. They always seem to forget what I've got to spend....













OK, I'm kidding. But I have to admit, I am a tiny bit annoyed by this type of responses. But you guys are not to blame...most of my tech friends in real life are. Who always forget I spend most of my money on my two Pedulla basses...

I need the mixer because I'm too lazy to change plugs. I only have 4 hours each recording session (the evenings my wife leaves the house). Don't want to waste time....

The Little Behringer 602 which I use for some outputs was a bargain at $50. You can spill drinks on it, drop it, rest books on it or use it as a door stop. Talk about spending money? Instead of buying a Martin Acoustic I turned into a plug-in freak! From now on it is hardware I will buy because this Technology is always changing but the outputs on the back of rack mountables and the like will always be in use. FILL THE RACK NOT THE HARD DRIVE.........Which Joe Meek would you use for a guitar & amp????

PS: I look at my event 20/20's which have been sitting on the bench for 6 months and used only once. Amazing that I buy all this crap, when I probably could have gotta way with a used reel to reel, radioshack headphones and a clue.

Yes, I see where you're going but it's not always the best option for homerecording guys.

When you buy a hardware compressor, you only get one (obviously), but if you buy a software compressor, you can run as many as your computer can handle....
