wow and flutter
greets.
Is there anything I can do to reduce the tape speed instability -- flutter i guess you would call it -- on an old Tascam Porta One 4-track? I frequently record instruments such as acoustic piano where this pitch-warbling is rather noticeable and doesn't sound pretty. Perhaps the machine needs cleaning or a replacement of rubber belts, etc? of course the porta one is about 15 years old... it may just be time to buy something newer. Thanks, D. |

Also are you useing quality tape, like TDK of maxell? The cheaper stuff sometimes binds up in cassette housingda MUTT
