Drum Mapping Session Drummer
Am I going mad or what? (don't answer that
I am trying to alter a drum pattern using SD and PRV. I am triggering VSC using SD. I record my track and then bounce the midi and audio to a new track in order to "print" it. I then go into the SD midi track, open up PRV.....and nothing is there I know from past experience that I have to slip edit the SD midi track in order to see the drum pattern...but there's nothing to slip edit in the track view.BTW, my bounced track plays back okay so everything is working fine there. I solo that track just to make sure the VSC isn't still triggering Have I missed something here? |

I just have two small questions:
1. What is "PRV"? 2. Why don't you do it by hand? ![]()

Answers:
1) PRV =Piano Roll View 2) Cos I haven't got the time to create every pattern, especially when there is "nearly" the perfect one for me ![]() |

Have you applied the effect of the SD to the track? I.e. in a MIDI track that has the session drummer in it, you need to select the track, and "apply Effects" to get it to "print" the drum part.

He does that... that's why he tried to "slip edit" the "print".
![]() And Paul, What is "SD"? Please stop writing in code!

Look at track view and double click on the new bounced track. It should open in the waves view. |

Paul, here's the deal... You want to print the style you've arranged in SD, to MIDI track, alter the notes in PRV, and then bounce it to audio track right ? I assume you had inserted the SD in a blank MIDI track, and had sequenced those style in SD all thru the song. This way, you don't see anything in the PRV... Am I correct so far ? ...Yup, go on Jaymz... Good... Now, before you Bounce to track(s) those track (which means rendering all MIDI to audio), select the MIDI track on which the SD inserted. Click Process --> Apply MIDI effect. This will pop up Apply MIDI effect dialog, just check "Delete the effects fromthe track inserts". Click okay... Now have a look at your MIDI track... Yes... you smile and say... Hehehe, Jaymz ![]() Jaymz

![]() Have a try. You can trigger SD from any blank MIDI track. Just insert the SD in the MIDI FX, adjust the propert (eg. select style, etc) hit play... it will play. To actually edit the MIDI being played is either load the MIDI file (patern source), or apply the MIDI effect to track (which is alot more simple way) ![]() ![]() Jaymz
