That synth intro is pretty cheesy-sounding....
There are some reasonably well-balanced elements to the mix, but the bed tracks sound like they have a wet-blanket thrown over them. The vocal is overly bright compared to the instrumental beds. The vocals, however, are well-performed and suitable to the song. The drums really sound quite artificial and lack punch - especially on tom fills and cymbal hits. Some timing glitches in the bridge and on the lead gtr bits. Overall, not the worst I've heard, but you haven't reached the potential quality levels of even budget analog. Keep at it! |

I like the style on this one.
I think the drums/bass/guitar/kyb all have to come up a notch in the mix. Adding more volume on the backing tracks should bring up their punch. Vocals sound okay, but are overly prominent & too forward in the mix. Otherwise it's a pretty cool song, kinda 70's sounding in composition. Kinda like STYX, or something like that. - It's the 3180 reverb, eh? ![]() |
