Octava MK319 question??

I am recording a full drum set today and I only have 3 condenser mics so I will use the 319 as an overhead of some kind. There are two switches on the back. What setting should use to best capture cymbals??

One is a 10 dB attenuator and the other is a high pass switch. Personally I wouldn't engage either one (well, maybe the pad if you detect any clipping). The last time I used a single MC-319 as an overhead, I placed it two drum stick lengths directly above the snare looking down at it. It worked very well there. YMMV.

So, as far as the position of the switches, you would switch them both off (down) so that the icon on top is displayed?? Excuse me for being such a rookie........

Both switches off (up)... so you see the - and N icons below them.

"N" means "no pad" and "-" means "flat, or no roll-off", etc.
