Suddenly Sonar stops recording

I just opened up a project I've been working on in Sonar. I armed a track to record, then press record. Playback starts and I play along and perform the part. When I'm done, I press stop. There's no audio clip recorded. It's very strange and it's getting me a bit riled up, since the first take was a keeper for sure. Any ideas?

That happened a few times to me (mostly when I was syncing with another device) ... couple of things to check... what are you syncing to - computer clock or sound card?

Also.. this is a silly one... remember to press r or record instead of play...

And if the trackname has special caracters Sonar can't handle, it won't be recorded aswell...

Thanks for the replies, fellas. I got it figured out. It was so stupid I'm not even going to say what was wrong out of sheer embarassment.


O.K. I'll tell you. I was recording from the beginning of the song, having forgotten that I had punchpoints still set at a later time in the song and I was in Auto Punch mode. Stupid Stupid me. It was a long day, and I was pretty tired when it happened. Thanks guys.
