I'm in Electrical Engineering undergradute and I'm thinking of doing my thesis on MIDI.
I'm interested in analog to digital coversion (converting guitar signal to midi notes). Where can I find good resources on this topic? |

Surely you realize that converting a digitized guitar signal to a MIDI note is not a process of analog-to-digital conversion? You have to process the signal to deduce its pitch. It's often termed pitch-to-MIDI conversion.
Here's one paper I found out there on the topic: http://gigue.peabody.jhu.edu/~ich/re...mc99.pitch.pdf some more possibly helpful and/or interesting articles: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/9903_101/ http://www.paul-lehrman.com/insider/1996/07insider.html http://machines.hyperreal.org/catego....converter.txt Good luck with the project, it will be challenging... |
