Cool Edit 2.0, Cheapest Place To Buy?

Is there anyone out there selling Cool Edit Pro 2.0 cheaper than the $249 on the Syntrillium web site?

I think there is a student/staff/organization price which is less than the retail. I've seen it in some website but I can't remember that now. May be you can run a search and figure that out.

If you had an earlier Syntrillium product, get it direct from them as an upgrade?

$79 to go from 1.2 to 2.1, if you take it as a download (not boxed with CD).

That is, from a legit 1.2/1.2a .... not a dodgy copy. Synt must have heard of you previously.

Mike.

Oh yea....I think "pirating" is when you steal or hack something from someone........I think that when a " peer " shares a file with you it's a differant deal......I did'nt steal it....he shared it with me......

now if you go to the dragon cave, you will see all kinds of people directley " quoting " someone else's original words........Thats pirating the words of someone else to use in your own reply or topic. Did you ask them if it was ok to quote them......did they offer......I think not.

And that's fine -- you have your opinion, and others have theirs.

The defining answer is what Syntrillium's legal department have to say about your "sharing". Care to ask them? I didn't think so.

Whoever "shared" it with you is risking losing the licence they legitimately paid for. If they did ... so you are doing them no favours by sharing.

Synt have already been more than generous to say you can install it on one PC and on one other PC that is your "secondary" workplace. It's more than you get off Billy G ... don't abuse that.

How wonderfully feeble and irrelevant. As are most pirate's arguments.

bubinski, spare us your dodgy philosophy. Everybody knows what pirated software is. This forum doesn't allow people to use this board to pirate Cool Edit. Simple.

Thats OK cause it does'nt work anyway, and I already deleted it.
I think I will buy a differant program that is easier to use, since I'm used to a hardware multitrack with knobs and sliders and is more hardware like. Sorry if I pissed anyone off.
